School robot gives boy virtual experience of museum trip

A six-year-old boy, Rufus, with Down's syndrome, enjoyed a virtual school trip thanks to a classroom robot. Unable to attend due to medical reasons, Rufus controlled the robot from home, experiencing a museum visit alongside his classmates.

The robot, which Rufus uses daily for lessons, lights up and moves, letting him interact like he's physically present. His mother called it a "game-changer," keeping him connected and fully included. The school and classmates have embraced the robot, which even took a ride on a vintage motorcycle during the trip. The technology helps absent children stay part of school life.
